The outspoken star admitted that she is guilty of indulging in a few too many selfies, but is urging others along with herself to have some ‘self-discipline.’

Writing in her UK newspaper column, 26-year-old Luisa said: “Just because you get a few likes on a picture doesn’t mean you’re a good person; the two-dimensional world of the selfie is a dangerous one.”

Luisa insists that we post things on Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets to show that we have a better life than those viewing our pictures.

“We live in a culture of instant gratification where we are ruled by snapshots illustrating that we are having a better time than Joe Bloggs reading our timeline.

“Funny how no one shares images of themselves doing laundry, washing the dishes, mid-argument with a partner or filing paperwork,” she said.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star is mum to daughter Dixie, and she acknowledged that her own bad selfie habits might be rubbing off on her.

Luisa said: “When I take a picture of my daughter Dixie and tell her to smile, she responds, ‘no, I’m doing the mummy face’, and proceeds to pout at the camera. She’s three years old. It’s amusing, but also worrying. I think I need to pout less and smile more.

“I don’t want to raise her in a world where acceptance and self-esteem boils down to how many people give the thumbs up on an Instagram shot – that’s probably been filtered and Photshopped anyway – instead of relying on charisma and manners.”

While Luisa agrees that the occasional selfie is OK, she thinks we definitely need to cut down, saying: “The chances are the world doesn’t want to see your new hairdo, Barbie doll boobs or you pretending to be asleep in bed.”
