He set tongues wagging last month when he was pictured kissing Ferne McCann – and now Jordan Hames tells Closer he’s enjoying his blossoming romance with the former TOWIE star.

Speaking at the Animal Hero Awards, the Love Island contestant says, "Ferne and I met on the night we kissed. She’s fit, she made me laugh, so yeah. It’s early stages, but we’ll see what happens.

"A gentleman never kisses and tells. I’m excited to see her tonight – I bet she looks amazing. She’s really hot."

Jordan – who sparked backlash in the villa when he made a move on India Reynolds, despite being paired up with pharmacist Anna Vakili – says he doesn’t pay any attention to online bullies.

He adds, "Everyone’s got an opinion of me, I know. But that’s what I signed myself up for. I’m all good."

And while Ferne McCann admits she might be in the throes of a budding romance with the reality star, she tells Closer she’s going to take it slow.

Ferne, 29, says, "Yes, Jordan and I did have a little kiss the other night. But everyone was saying, 'They’ve confirmed their relationship!' – and I literally met him that night!

"We just clicked... he’s a really nice guy. We’ll see what happens and how it goes – he hasn’t taken me on a proper date yet, but if he wants to, he can!"

Ferne’s love life hit headlines in 2017 when ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins was arrested and jailed for 20 years for his involvement in a shocking acid attack in a London nightclub – leaving the then-pregnant star to raise their daughter Sunday alone.

Since having Sunday in November that year, Ferne has been linked to Love Island star Charlie Brake and an older mystery man – but has insisted her daughter is more important, claiming her love life "is at the bottom of [her] list of priorities".

But she does think it’s really crucial for her, and for all mums, to remember they are women as well as mothers – and it’s okay to go out and feel sexy.

After kissing Jordan, she says, "There was a part of me that was like, 'Yes, I’ve still got it'. Because you don’t want to write yourself off dating just because you have children.

"I don’t want to feel ‘mumsy’ or that I’ve lost my own identity. Sunday is my absolute world, but I’m still me. I am single, and it’s nice to feel that I can mingle."

Ferne – who had to take Sunday on visits to see her dad Collins in prison after he asserted custody rights in 2018, although it’s unclear whether she still does so – has help from her family and friends who have supported her.

Speaking at the Animal Hero Awards, she says, "Sunday isn’t so dependent on me any more, and my mum has been so amazing in looking after her and helping out. She enables me to continue working and have a career, whilst being a mum.

"I couldn’t do half of the things I do without her – like coming to amazing events, and snogging Love Islanders! So thanks to my mum for giving me the opportunity to snog Jordan from Love Island!"
