Love Island addicts tuned into last night’s dramatic series finale with one question- which couple would be walking away with the £50,000 prize money?
But viewers were left with their jaws falling off the edge of their sofas when contestant Jon Clark proposed to his buxom blonde islander girlfriend Hannah Elizabeth.
He decided to pop the question during the contestants emotional ‘commitment ceremony’ task, with only his pal Josh Ritchie being let in on the secret.
Jon adorably wrote a poem for his ‘dream girl’, reiterating that he felt like a ‘unicorn’ when he was a with her.
Josh surprised viewers (and his partner Lauren!) when he started welling up over the romantic proposal.
Luckily for Jon, Hannah delightedly accepted his proposal and during the finale party Hannah was showing off her new sparkly engagement ring to the viewers at home.
With many Love Island fans placing money on Jon and Hannah to win the series, contestants Jess Hayes and Max Morley were left gobsmacked when it was revealed that they had won the prize money of £50,000.
In a sneaky twist, they were asked to choose between ‘love’ and ‘money’. If both Jess and Max chose ‘love’ then they would share the jackpot. If one of them chose ‘money’ then they would walk away with ALL the money to themselves.
Heartwarmingly, Jess and Max both opted for ‘love’, ending the series on a seriously romantic note.
