Louis, 63, was axed from the judging panel this year after 11 seasons on the show, and he’s not a fan of the new format.
Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw were drafted in as replacements for Louis and Mel B, while Olly Murs and Caroline Flack replaced Dermot O’Leary as hosts of the main show.
Now Irishman Louis has slammed the ITV competition – laying the blame with head judge Simon Cowell.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Louis said: “Simon wanted me back as the fifth judge but he was overruled. Maybe next year, if he has the right people.
“I don’t want to be joining a how that’s going down!”
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was promoted to executive producer this year, but Louis thinks that was a mistake.
He continued: “He should talk to someone who knows something about it. Cheryl doesn’t interest me. Rita’s the star of the show.”
And, making his feelings absolutely clear, Louis revealed he’s told Simon, 56, it’s his fault the show’s ratings have fallen.
“He’s doing his very best but it’s just not good enough,” Louis said. “I told Simon, ‘You’ve f***ed up the show’.”
