Nadia Sawalha has confessed that she once tried the traditional method of 'giving your child whiskey' to soothe try and settle them.

During a discussion about children and tantrums, the Loose Women talked about the various ways they've tried to stop their own children from having tantrums, following a report that the best method is just to 'ignore them' and let them settle of their own accord.

However, the ladies were pretty shocked when Nadia admitted she once tried to give her two-year old 'whiskey' in the hope she would settle during a night flight.

Recalling the “rookie error” that she made booking an overnight flight and assuming her child would sleep right the way through, Nadia decided to take matters into her own hands when her daughter became restless.

She said: "I thought, ‘I know, I’ll do what grannies used to do. I’ll put whiskey in her bottle."

Fellow pannellist Kaye Adams then joked: "Is this going out live?"

Nadia’s then spoke about the result of giving her two-year old WHISKEY: "And do you know what happened?

"Exactly what happens to me when I have whiskey. She danced all night!"

Giving children whiskey dates back a hell of a long time, especially as a treatment for teething. However, medicine has come on leaps and bounds since then so experts would DEFINITELY not recommend it.
