Perrie Edwards split from Zayn Malik in July this year, after he reportedly sent her a TEXT to call off their engagement.
The Little Mix star went straight back to work, promoting the band's new single Black Magic, after Zayn Malik called off their engagement earlier this year.
And, despite breaking down into tears once on live television, the blonde songstress has proven to be a total warrior about it.
So how did she come to terms with her heartbreak?
Well, speaking with Cosmopolitan in a new interview, Perrie explained that she has a simple four-step process when it comes to handling breakups.
The 22-year-old advised: "Have that little moment when you're in your room and you cry.
"Eat some crappy food: chocolate and ice cream and popcorn."
She added: "Then once you pass that stage, surround yourself with positive people.
“You get your girlfriends, you go out, party, you enjoy life."
So, in short, the way to handle a breakup is:
-
Cry
-
Eat ice cream
-
Hang out with friends
-
Have fun
That sounds pretty doable to us.
However, for Perrie at least, the most important step has quite clearly been number three.
From what we’ve seen on social media, she’s been getting a lot of love from Little Mix bandmates Jesy Nelson, Leigh Anne Pinnock and Jade Thurlwall, and the girls have been doing everything they can to help keep Perrie smiling.
Speaking about her bandmates, Perrie said that they are "past the point of being friends, we literally love each other so much."
She added firmly: “We love being together. It's weird, I don't even know why. But it just works — we believe in sisterhood and just being strong women. We've really become stronger as a unit and realize that when four girls like us come together, it is a force to be reckoned with."
Talk about girl power!
