As the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls debut single approaches, rumours are flying around as to how they’ll celebrate the milestone, and now Little Mix have confirmed they’re in talks to collaborate with them.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Perrie Edwards said: “We’d love to be involved with it. We love the Spice Girls and want to perform with them. They know that.”
Jade Thirlwall added: “Hopefully we get to support them and do a duet.”
Little Mix, despite only getting together during The X Factor in 2011, are already on their way to the Spice Girls’ level of success.
In 2013 they smashed records set by Posh, Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby, when their debut album DNA entered the US Billboard 200 chart at number four – surpassing the Spice Girls’ debut at number six in 1997.
Following reports Victoria Beckham won’t be taking part in the alleged reunion plans next year, Little Mix insisted it wouldn’t be the same without her.
Jesy Nelson said: “It’s never the same if they don’t all do it. Then again, they were still successful when Geri [Halliwell] left because they were so iconic.”
