Kylie Minogue says she faced cancer surgery as if she was going on stage

The Voice judge Kylie Minogue has compared her breast cancer surgery to preparing to go on stage in an interview with Radio Times.

Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and returned to her native Australia to receive treatment.

The star revealed: ‘I was lying there on the trolley and I was suddenly taken by the fact that I was going into a ‘theatre’.’

‘The whole gowning up, the masks, the build-up, the adrenalin, it all felt so familiar. I was under lights. ‘Ah! There’s my spotlight’.’

The petite singer continued: ‘Medicine is so different from my business, but, in some ways, so similar.’

Kylie eventually entered remission and made a musical comeback a year later.

Kylie had previously spoken about her battle with breast cancer in an interview with Piers Morgan.
