Doting wife Kerry, 35, asked her fans to pray for her ex rugby player husband, taking to her Twitter on Thursday.

‘Asking you all to say a prayer for my @mrgsjkay been taken into hospital with signs of a stroke xxx.’

But despite obviously being quite unwell, George took to his own social media pages to assure fans it might not be as serious as first thought.

‘Hoping its bells paisley (think that’s how you spell it) (sic) xxx.’

Bells Pallsy is the temporary paralysis of the muscles in the face - and can affect one side, giving the illusion that someone is having a stroke,

Earlier this month, George said he would happily have 100 children with his Atomic Kitten wife Kerry, telling new!: ‘You don’t have a baby to make a relationship, it just makes a family complete. As for how many you have, it’s horses for courses and whether you cn look after them. I’d have 100.’

Last month however, George shocked fans when he told Closer married life ‘isn’t what I thought it would be to be honest.’

He admitted there have ‘been times I’ve thought we might not last.’

Our best wishes are with George Kay and family at this time. Get better soon!

If you or someone close to you think you might be experiencing a stroke, you need to follow the NHS guidelines and act F.A.S.T. If they tick any one of these boxes, dial 999 immediately:

Face: Has their face fallen on one side? Can they smile?

Arms: Can they lift and hold their arms in the same position, or does one drop?

Speech: Is their speech slurred?

Time: Time to call emergency services if you spot one of these.
