They’ve been friends for over two decades since starring together in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, so it was no surprise when Kerry Katona told Closer she’s even swapped surgery tips with her BFF Katie Price.
Reuniting to appear in panto together this December, Kerry, 44, laughs, ‘We’re always on the phone and still really close. She’s just had her face done and she wants me to have everything done! She’s an enabler!’
This summer Katie, 46, hit headlines following her sixth facelift, and over the years she’s admitted to – among other things – having a nose job in 2007 and a whopping 16 boob jobs, her first in 1998 when she was just 20. Kerry herself has had three boob jobs over the years and underwent an eyelift in January.
The former Atomic Kitten star was also forced to have a nose job recently when her surgeon spotted that it was collapsing after years of cocaine abuse. Kerry has previously admitted cocaine became her ‘best friend’ after her mum first gave her speed disguised as sherbet when she was just 14.
Now proudly sober for 15 years, Kerry adds, ‘While I was having my eyes done, the surgeon said, ‘‘Have you thought about a nose job?” And I said, “No” and then he said that he could see a hole in my nose and that it was collapsing. He said it would keep changing shape, the older I got. So I decided to fix that as well!
‘It was from when I did loads of drugs, I scraped a hole in my nose. It was a self-harm thing and no one could see it. I decided it was finally time to get it fixed!’
After making a name for herself in reality TV on shows like I’m A Celeb, Dancing On Ice and Celebrity Big Brother, nowadays Kerry’s main source of income comes from the online platform OnlyFans. Embracing her former glamour model career, Kerry has reportedly made over £1million from the site.
‘I’ll do OnlyFans in my eighties!’ cackles Kerry – who’s mum to Molly, 22, Lilly, 20 with ex-husband Brian McFadden as well as Heidi, 17, Max, 15, and DJ, eight. ‘I’ll do it for as long as I’m making money out of it. I won’t have any pension, the way Keir Starmer is going on. I won’t even be able to put the f**king heating on!
‘You need to be proud of your body. I’ve got a beautiful vagina, I’m not going to lie. I’ve had four men propose to me, it can’t be that f**king bad!’
In August, when Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury shockingly announced their split after five years together, Kerry observed some similarities between the pair and her own separation from Brian McFadden, 44, in 2006.
She said, ‘My first husband was barely there and it’s so tough. Molly-Mae was on her own a lot before the split while Tommy was away working, and what’s the point of being in a relationship if you’re not going to be there for each other?’
And speaking at the Paul Strank Roofing Charity Gala, Kerry adds, ‘Molly-Mae’s got a great support network around her. Being a young mum is really hard, but she’s lucky she’s a young mum in this day and age – people seem to be so much more understanding around all the struggles.
‘When Molly-Mae called her baby Bambi, I joked that it was child abuse! But I didn’t think that at all. It’s a lovely, lovely name! I told her I shouldn’t have said that, I was just trying to be funny! I hope we’re friends now.’
Following her split from Brian, Kerry dated Mark Croft from 2007-2011 and George Kay 2014-2017, but she’s now in a committed relationship with fiancé Ryan Mahoney having met on the dating app Bumble back in 2018. Following their engagement in 2020 – and a brief split earlier this year – wedding number four is on the horizon for Kerry, but she’s taking her time with planning.
She explains, ‘Everyone’s still talking about the wedding! We’ve been engaged for four years and together for six. I’m not fussed about when we get married. My only worry is that if anything happens to me, Ryan’s got no legal representation over DJ.
‘She’s only ever known Ryan. DJ was only around three when her own dad passed away and four when Ryan came into our lives, so she’s only ever known him. I love him and he wants to officially adopt her. He’s had her name tattooed on his back, not mine! Let’s think about the amount of guys who have had me tattooed on their back.’
And although there have been rumours Kerry is planning to have a baby with Ryan, she says it’s not on the cards.
‘There’s no way we’re having kids,’ she concludes. ‘I’m enough and my kids are enough and he’s accepted that. We’re happy just as we are.’
