Kelly Osbourne: ‘I can be happy without taking drugs now’

Kelly Osbourne has been outspoken about her battles with drug and alcohol abuse, admitting that at her lowest point she was taking 50 prescription pills 
a day and throwing herself down stairs to try to get doctors to prescribe her medication.

But despite having been in and out of rehab seven times since she was 19, today Kelly Osbourne has turned her life around and has a successful career to show for it.

Last week she was confirmed as the new judge on Australia’s Got Talent and this month she starts her new role as a judge on US Lifetime’s Project Runway Junior.

But although the 31-year-old – who is a passionate supporter of US drug charity Peggy Albrecht, which helps women in recovery – has stopped the wild partying, she tells Closer she hasn’t given up alcohol.

Kelly says: “I would never call myself clean, and I’m not in a treatment programme. I have the occasional drink, but now I can be happy without taking drugs.”
