Labour MP Simon Danczuk, who represents the town of Rochdale, has personally asked the Police Commissioner of Greater Manchester Police, Tony Lloyd, to investigate Katie Hopkins.
He has claimed that Katie used Twitter to associate the Pakistani flag with the grooming of young girls in Rochdale, a scandal which has rocked the area.
She began sending her tweets shortly after Mr Danczuk attended the raising of a Pakistani flag over the town hall to mark National Pakistan Day on 23rd March.
Taking to Twitter, the Celebrity Big Brother star wrote: "Raising a Pakistani flag in Rochdale is not helping community cohesion. it is inflammatory.
"@SimonDanczuk you & your party disgust me.”
The columnist also posted a picture of eight men convicted of child exploitation offences, asking Mr Danczuk if they were his friends too.
Speaking about his decision to report Katie Hopkins to the police, the Labour MP said: "It is not right that somebody who has little to do with Rochdale incited hatred of this kind.
"Rochdale is a very cohesive community - people work well together.
“Of course there are tensions, like there are in other communities, but people rub together really well and we don't need outsiders like Katie Hopkins to come in and cause trouble just for the sake of causing trouble and creating Sun headlines."
Katie has yet to comment on the allegations made against her.
However she has shared a screen grab of her online conversation with the politician, insisting that she has ended Mr Danczuk’s political career.
Meanwhile Katie has also been accused of making a Holocaust joke aimed at the wife of Ed Miliband – whose Jewish parents fled from the Nazis.
She tweeted: “Pollsters say Justine is the least popular of party wives. He might stick her head in the oven and turn on the gas.”
The controversial TV pundit was slammed on social media for her comments. with one furious person tweeting: “Katie Hopkins should be prosecuted for her vile gas oven and Jewish tweet. She is sub human both in intellect and character.”
Another wrote: “I liked you, but you've f***ed up this time. Being unafraid of speaking your mind is good. Holocaust jokes are a step too far.”
