Friends of the Welsh singer told a UK newspaper she was ‘sad but moving on’ after her six month relationship with Adam.

The 33 year-old reportedly ended things after Adam’s work commitments and training for a charity boxing match ‘massive pressure’ on their romance.

The newspaper’s source said: ‘Adam has been training really hard for this boxing match and has been really under the cosh at work.

‘These two factors made holding down a relationship almost impossible. It put a massive pressure on them.

‘It was Katherine’s decision but she still loves Adam and will continue to support him as a friend.

‘Despite this she is incredibly sad and feeling pretty raw – splitting up is always painful.’

37 year-old Adam – a former professional rugby player and one of Prince Harry’s best friends - is due to fight Richard Branson’s son-in-law Fred Andrews at a fundraiser in September.

According to the source, Katherine will still support her ex at the match.

She and Adam began dating in February after being introduced by mutual friends and the relationship was Katherine’s first serious commitment since breaking off her engagement to Gethin Jones in December 2011.

At the time of her break-up with the Welsh TV presenter, Katherine said she was ‘devastated’ and ‘beyond broken-hearted.’

In the past, the singer has admitted ‘public break-ups are difficult.’

‘Going through that is devastating anyway but when it’s ‘out there’ people feel free to comment,’ she said.

The star also admitted she longs to start a family.

‘My big dream is children and getting married. For women in my business it’s very difficult to decide when to stop.’

‘But I can’t wait to be a mum and if – please God – I am, I think it’s a gift and I want to enjoy it.’
