The new mum and her six-month-old son reportedly stayed in the £15,000-per-week Aurora villa, on the Caribbean island of Mustique, which boasts “sweeping vistas of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean”.
However, despite having fun with grandparents Carole and James Middleton, Kate's husband Prince William was absent from the trip as he stayed in the UK to study agricultural management in Cambridge.
A royal source said today: “They enjoyed their break immensely but of course they missed having William with them.
“He will be very glad to have them home, a week away from your baby is a long time and of course he will have missed little George.”
Pictures of Kate and George on the way to their holiday were published in magazines today, making it the very first time an unofficial picture of the baby prince has been printed.
While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken legal action in the past over “off-duty” photographs to which they have objected, Kensington Palace indicated that it would not take action on this occasion if it published the photos.
Royal sources said Kensington Palace had not objected to the pictures - in which the Duchess is smiling and relaxed - because they were taken “in a public place, without any harassment or pursuit”.
According to reports, three royal bodyguards accompanied Kate and George on a scheduled flight to the Caribbean, during which Britain's future king was said to have been very well behaved.
It's nice to hear that Kate and her bouncing baby boy have been enjoying some quality mummy-son time, isn't it?
