“It’s around mid-July but apparently babies have their own agenda”
When asked when her first child is due during her visit to a homeless shelter in Glasgow yesterday, Kate replied: “It’s around mid-July but apparently babies have their own agenda”.
Happy to chat about her plans for the baby’s arrival, the six-months pregnant Duchess revealed that she will go on leave from her royal duties from “around June time.”
Kate also said that she and William had drawn up a list of names for their child.
“We have a shortlist for both [boy and girl] but it’s very difficult. My friends keep texting me names.”
But when Kate was asked if the baby’s nursery was ready, she replied: “No... we have got a lot to do!”

At the shelter, Kate showed her amusement when husband William was asked to do some DJ-ing. The Prince reportedly looked awkward and joked it was harder than flying a helicopter. After his turn on the decks Kate said to him: “Step away from the music.”
Although she is six months in to her pregnancy, the duchess displayed only the smallest hint of a baby bump in her tartan coat and got stuck into a game of table tennis with her husband and had a go at shooting some basketball hoops.
Kate got an entertaining insight into motherhood when she chatted to Shirley Addison, mum of Heidi – an eight-month old baby with an unusual appetite.
Shirley told reporters: “We said we had flowers for a special someone. I told her it was the most amazing experience ahead of her.”
“But she needed to be careful because Heidi was more interested in trying to eat the flowers.”
