Jennifer Metcalfe has reportedly been growing close to Hollyoaks co-star David Tag, who plays her on-screen husband Sylver McQueen, after announcing her split from former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake.
Jennifer and Greg dated for nearly eight years and share three-year-old son Daye but confirmed the sad news that they had broken up a couple of months ago in a joint statement on social media last week.
Following the announcement, the 39-year-old actress has been spotted grabbing lunch with her on-screen hubby amid rumours about their close relationship.
“Jen and David have been working closely together for over a year now and people on the Hollyoaks set suspect they're more than friends,” a Hollyoaks insider told the Mirror.
“Some of the cast feel sorry for Greg as it seems quite fast since he and Jen split.”
This comes after Jennifer and David were pictured in her Range Rover during a break from filming as they picked up food from a restaurant and stopped at a petrol station in Liverpool.

Despite separating from her long-term partner Greg, Jennifer told fans they would remain amicable as they continue to co-parent their son.
She wrote on Instagram, “Greg and I decided to part ways amicably a couple months ago. We remain friends and we both will continue to happily co parent Daye and would appreciate privacy during these times.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us before, during and after this."

In other Hollyoaks news, it’s been announced that Mitchell Deveraux actor Imran Adams has quit the show two months after the cast became embroiled in a row about backstage racism.
It’s not yet known how he’ll make his exit but a spokesperson for the Channel 4 soap confirmed, “Imran Adams will be leaving Hollyoaks later this year at the end of his current contract.”
This comes after Rachel Adedeji revealed she was leaving her role as Imran’s on-screen cousin Lisa Loveday after speaking out about experiencing racism while working on the show, sparking a feud with co-star Lysette Anthony on social media.
