35-year-old James Franco photographed himself standing in front of a mirror with his underwear pulled halfway down and his hand grouping his private parts.
With disheveled hair, skin glistening with sweat and his right hand deep inside his underpants, the Academy Award-nominated actor looked rather worse for wear.
He intriguingly captioned the shot: "JUMP ROPE"
What does that even mean?
Less than an hour after posting the offending photo, Franco has deleted it from his account.
However up to 1.9 million of his followers spotted the snap - which means it has gone spiralling out of control on the internet.
Last month, the actor made headlines after he met Lucy Clode, an underage tourist from Scotland, outside his Broadway show, “Of Mice and Men.”
After she took a video of the encounter and posted it to Instagram, the two engaged in a flirty conversation on the social media site, with Franco asking her name, age and if she had a boyfriend.
Lucy said she was “nearly 18″ — but not yet.
The exchange went viral when the 17-year-old girl posted it to Igmur, and Franco later admitted he was “embarrassed” about the incident.
“I was feeling awkward,” he told Michael Strahan on ”Live with Kelly and Michael” April 4. “I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky. It’s a way people meet each other today.”
He continued, “I used bad judgment and I learned my lesson.”
