James Arthur, who was propelled into fame as the winner of The X Factor 2012, has quit Twitter after being accused of homophobia - but he didn't go quietly.
Nope, there was one last public argument with Frankie Boyle too.
It all kicked off when James became embroiled in a fierce feud with rap rival Micky Worthless, who the X Factor star challenged to a rap battle.
It was during this rap battle that James slammed the unknown musician as a "f**king queer" and a "pop puppet" - much to the disdain of those on Twitter many of whom labelled him a "homophobe" and told him to "grow up".
Comedian Matt Lucas also blasted the singer, saying: "Fk you @JamesArthur23 for using the phrase 'fking queer' in your latest track. F**k you."
James then attempted to make amends via a Twitter apology, explaining he never meant to cause offence:
Matt Lucas has since accepted the online apology, but Frankie Boyle - who has fought with James Arthur in the past - couldn't resist having the last word.
James, responding to Matt's message of forgiveness, tweeted: "[I'm] one of the many demons in your mind telling you to insult everybody in the hope of feeling somewhat important. I Luv u x."
But Frankie Boyle then replied to the tweet, saying: "From the pic I thought it was a child’s drawing of a monster.Sit down &( so far as it’s technically possible) shut your mouth."
Cue the feud.
James Arthur angrily tweeted: "You are a 38 yr old man what are you doing? You know nothing about music and comedy it seems.. I feel sorry for your kids."
Displaying his sense of humour, Frankie replied: "I feel sorry for them too, because they'll have to watch you in panto next year".
The Twitter spat came to an end with James posting the final word: "That's funny coz I'm on a sold out Tour all next year.. Where are you even allowed to perform anymore.."
Or, at least, we THOUGHT it was the final word. Within a couple of hours, James then tweeted his 2 million followers, explaining that he was quitting the social media site. Forever.
We wonder if he will ever return?
