Nico Mirallegro played Barry “Newt” Newton in Hollyoaks from 2007 to 2010, and was involved in some very controversial storylines.

Fans of the soap will remember Newt developed a fixation with an imaginary friend that talked him into a suicide pact, and suffered from schizophrenia.

Even though Nico wore a wig and fake piercings for his character, his appearance in Hollyoaks was more than memorable.

And Nico has gone on to several other acting roles since his appearance in the Channel 4 soap, too.

You might recognise him from My Mad Fat Diary, The Village and Common, to name a few.

Are you ready to see what he looks like now he’s all grown up?

Take a look:

Yep, that’s Nico on the right.

Doesn’t he look handsome?!

The now 25 year old was nominated for two British Soap Awards during his time on Hollyoaks, and he’s also been nominated for a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor in The Village.

The actor is currently working on upcoming films Cardboard Boy and The Habit of Beauty and will be starring in Rillington Place – a new three-part BBC drama.
