We all knew that Holly Willoughby was a very special woman, but we had no idea that she was Wonder Woman!

At the start of today’s This Morning, the mum-of-three explained to viewers and co-host Phillip Schofield that she had stopped on the way to the studios in a bid to help a car crash victim.

Still looking shocked, Holly explained: “Well on my way to work today, driving in - I’m not driving, I’m writing my script in the back - and there was this almighty bang and a guy on a scooter moped-type thing has hit the car next to us, and we’ve all stopped obviously…

“I said to the driver, ‘is he alright? Can you have a look?’

“I didn’t want to look at first because you didn’t know what I was going to see and I don’t know if I need that in my head, that image, anyway, he looked and I got out and went round.”

Holly continued: “This poor chap had come off his bike, the bike was on top of him, he’d hit a stationary car, I think… and there was a chap at the bus stop opposite who came running over and the driver of our car lifted the moped off, I called an ambulance and we sat there with him.

“I think he was in complete shock - at first we weren’t sure if he was alright because he was lying completely out and wondered if he’d broken any bones - we couldn’t see.”

Explaining her role in the man’s recovery, Holly added: “We kept him very still and I rang the ambulance who were there in minutes, very, very quickly and then the guy started talking and he seemed OK.”

The television presenter then turned to the cameras to issue a plea for any information as to the man’s name and condition.

She said: “I didn’t get his name, it was on the Brompton Road this morning, I hope he’s alright, if anyone knows who he is, just to check he’s OK.”

Phillip added: “Yes, let’s hope he’s alright… and when he finally gets all his senses back together he’ll think, ‘was that Holly Willoughby who was talking to me?’... no one's going to believe him!”

Holly smiled at Phil’s comment, before finishing with one important message.

She said: “It was a real reminder of how brilliant when you ring 999 and how quickly those ambulance services are there, incredible.

“So I hope you’re well whoever you are.”
