Whilst Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham toast the arrivals of their newest bundles of joy, fellow band member Geri Halliwell is celebrating something entirely different.
Instead of the pitter-patter of tiny feet, Geri, 38, is focusing on strutting down the runway, as her latest fashion line is revealed. The former Spice Girl’s bikini range sold so well for high street shop Next, that she has now created six evening dresses for them.
Geri took to the runway in a stunning, floor length, azure gown at the Old Billingsgate market. Other colours in the range included black, scarlet, mauve and oyster pieces.
'I've been sketching everything myself and I'm thrilled with the results'
As the dresses were modeled for the audience last night, the singer turned designer was pleased in her element, saying: “I’ve been sketching everything myself and I’m thrilled with the results. I’ve had the opportunity to make dresses that are not stupidly expensive but still elegant enough to wear to an upmarket event.”
The evening dresses will be made in sizes 6-22 and will available in Next stores from October 2011. Even better news, the range is affordable, starting at just £89.
After Emma and Victoria revealed that they’ve been swapping baby tips, we wonder if Geri has had some handy hints from her band mate after the success of her VB range.
Who knows, we may even see a little competition from the girls.
