The footballer, 36, appeared on ITV’s Loose Women and explained the reason behind his and Christine’s long engagement.
He said: “We’re actually having a great time, that’s the thing. When we got engaged, we said we want to enjoy the fun time and we’re both very busy.”
However the dad-of-two insisted the wedding IS happening – but it won’t be a lavish showbiz affair.
Frank continued: “We are very ready. We are going to do a small and pretty intimate [wedding], not a surprise thing, we like our privacy and keeping it to ourselves.”
While Frank is set to relocate to New York for 18 months to play football, he is certain it won’t put a strain on their relationship.
“Christine has got bits on. She’ll be backwards and forwards probably more than me. We are a couple that like to be together,” he added.
“We’re not good at long distance for too long so we’ll make it work. I’m actually back for two months over Christmas. We’re just going to try and make it work and have fun along the way.”
Christine and Frank got together in 2009 and confirmed their engagement in 2011.
