Maria Fowler has vowed to cut down on drinking and clubbing after she was glassed by a man in a nightclub.
The former Essex star took to Twitter to tell followers of her plans to stop drinking and focus on her business.
In the statement, 26-year-old Maria wrote: “My business is dong well and waiting for the weekend every week is not going to help me progress in my tanning company.
“And now we have so many colleges booked in with our training courses it seems the perfect time to hang up my Louboutins and quit alcohol.”
Maria went on to reveal the attack by the man and that she has been verbally abused in nightclubs before.
She wrote: “In the past 2 weeks I have been glassed by a man and also verbally abused when out and never received hostility like that before. I’m not going to become as successful as I wish and also meet the right person to settle down with in nightclubs.
“I drink way too much. A lot more than I should and it’s not right for my mind or body. So that’s my decision. It may not last forever but it suits me now.”
Maria’s decision comes after she revealed only last year her battle with depression and how she collapsed in a park after overdosing on pills.
Speaking at the time, Maria said: “I felt so desperate. I didn’t want to die but I didn’t want to live. I felt like a caged animal. It was a cry for help – I didn’t have anyone to turn to. “
