Charley, 27, confirmed the news via Twitter today, sharing an adorable snap of them with their five-year-old son Buster.
While Matthew held a sign saying ‘Baby #2’, little Buster had one that read ‘Only child expiring 2015’.
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Matthew – who plays David Metcalfe in Emmerdale – said: “Buster is five, and we’re due again in December… He’s desperate for a little brother!”
Matthew tweeted today to thank his fans and followers for the well-wishes, writing: “Wow… Overwhelmed by all the congrats tweets!!
“Thank you so much we are soooooooo excited!! @MissCharleyWebb xxxxx [sic].”
Meanwhile it was revealed last month that David will leave the village with Alicia, but Matthew insists there’s a chance he’ll be back.
He said: “It feels like I’ve been there two minutes. I got a three month contract to start with and ten years later… I’m leaving!
“It’s goodbye for now, but there’s a possibility that David will be back. He has his Dad and daughter in the village.. so yeah, I don’t want to give too much away, but I will be back!”
