If you’re thinking you’ve missed a lot of Emmerdale episodes recently, you haven’t - because Emmerdale actors Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop (who play Eric Pollard and Brenda Walker) actually got married in real life last week.
After the pair met back in 2008 when Brenda first joined the show, they began dating and last year the pair got engaged.
However the co-stars are now officially became husband and wife, after they wed in St Peter’s Church in Coverack, Cornwall on June 18th.
The ceremony took place in front of family and close friends, which included co-stars Bhaskar Patel (Rishi Sharma), Sam Hall (Samson Dingle) and Nicola Wheeler (Nicola King).
The happy couple's characters - Brenda and Eric - previously dated on the soap, but Eric eventually got back together with Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick).
When talking about their character's relationship on the show, Lesley told Inside Soap that she didn’t like to do kissing scenes in front of everyone.
She added: “So I don’t think I’d ever want Brenda and [Eric] Pollard to get back together again - it’s bad enough living with him in real life!”
In the past Chris has spoke about working with his wife, he told the Daily Record: “It was weird. Somehow we’d never met before and we just kept bumping into each other at work.
“I can’t even remember if I asked her for a date or she asked me, but she is wonderful and we’re very happy.”
He also reassured everyone that they love working together but don’t talk about Emmerdale at home.
Congratulations once again to Chris and Lesley!
