The retired footballer, 40, has even had to apply for planning permission to build the Wendy house, which he hopes will become an escape for three-year-old Harper.

According to insiders the wooden fortress will cost David and Victoria a massive £100,000!

The superstar couple are also planning to put up privacy-protecting walls around the garden of their £31.5 million London mansion.

A source told the Mirror: “The Wendy house will be great for Harper and give her her own space.

“As with the rest of the house no expense will be spared on building it and kitting it out. It will be fit for a princess.”

David’s extravagant gift to his little girl comes after he and Victoria, 41, managed to defy protests and gain planning permission to install air conditioning in their Holland Park home.

Other features of the Beckhams’ home include a dressing room for Victoria, complete with a mini-runway and electric rails, a snug for David with a bar and pool table and a whole floor for guests.

Estate agents have suggested that, once David and VB are finished with the renovations, the house will be worth £42 million.
