Sometimes it’s hard to know where Mick Carter ends and Danny Dyer begins; after all, they’re both loving family men with a penchant for cockney slang and funny one-liners.

But, every once in a while, the EastEnders actor draws us back into reality when he comments on OTHER soap operas.

And, earlier this week, he dismissed (or dissed, depending on your POV) Coronation Street’s upcoming live episode.

Why? Well, because he doesn’t reckon it’s all that big a deal compared to the week of EastEnders episodes which aired earlier this year in February.

Speaking to OK!, the actor said: “You’ve got to remember that we did a week [of live episodes]…

“So one night is f*** all really!”

Brilliant.

But Danny, being Danny, didn’t let things end on a sour note.

Instead, in a spirit of solidarity, the cheeky chappy added: “But I’m rooting for them.”

He also offered the Corrie cast a few sage words of advice, suggesting: “Don’t forget your lines, and don’t call someone by their real name.”

Fair enough!

As Coronation Street fans will be aware, the Platt family will take centre stage in the hour-long special airing on Wednesday 23rd September as part of ITV’s 60th anniversary.

Speaking about the episode, Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn told the Radio Times: “At the heart of all this is going to be the Platts and their ongoing feud between the good guys – and whoever thought David Platt would be one of the good guys? – and Callum.

“It’s going to be full of shocks and twists and really will make everything that has come before look like a prologue.”

And, with rumours circulating that this may very well be Jack P Shepherd’s last episode as David Platt, it sounds like an absolute must-watch.
