She may have left the show a few years back, but former judge Dannii Minogue is set to make an explosive return to The X Factor.

The 43-year-old is currently working as a judge on Australia’s version of The X Factor, but is planning on holding the ‘judges houses’ segment of the show in the UK.

Cheryl on the other hand will invite contestants to her home in the south of France, a short distance from Dannii’s base in the UK. As a result Cheryl has considered Dannii as a natural choice to help her make her X Factor selections.

A source told the Metro: “The biggest news this year is the return of Dannii Minogue – she has been requested by Cheryl.”

They explained: “Dannii is doing her judges’ houses for the Australian version of the show in the UK this year and as Cheryl is doing hers in France, it’s quite an easy distance for Dannii to travel.”

Cheryl has previously had musical pal Tinie Tempah assist with the picking finalists, as well as Girls Aloud bestie Kimberley Walsh.

Simon Cowell is reportedly considering ditching his go-to ‘judges houses’ pal Sinitta for this year’s series.

The insider explained: “Simon isn’t happy with Sinitta,”

They continued, suggesting that pop star Paloma Faith may be taking her place.

Simon Cowell and Dannii have patched things up

“She looks set to be axed. However, he is so pleased to get Paloma on board as he believes this will help draw her to sign up for a future series instead of The Voice.”

Dannii’s return to the show may ruffle feathers after it was revealed that she and X Factor boss Simon Cowell had a brief romance during filming several years ago.

The source claims that the pair have since built bridges.

“Him and Dannii are on good terms and he knows she is one of the best judges for spotting talent he has ever worked with.”
