DANCING ON ICE: WEEK 7

We were all shocked to see Suzanne Shaw go last night

She skated beautifully - her first routine was probably my favourite of the night. It was really emotional, really passionate and it's exactly what dancing is all about - expressing a feeling.

It's a shame the Team Challenge didn't go our way and she had to do the skate off - although you never know, it might have gone that way even if we had won Team Challenge - but those little mistakes meant that the judges voted her off and Kyran was saved.

I never thought I'd end up wearing gold lamé knickers on the show

… but there's a first time for everything. That crop top and skirt combo gave me a lot of draughts in a lot of unexpected places (I know how the girls feel now!) but it actually looked really good and in keeping with the Egyptian theme. It was just a little awkward backstage with the doormen and stuff!

Hayley rose to the challenge of being a team leader

… and she did it beautifully. She and Ray were both confident, were both great at boosting morale and they made all those executive decisions that needed to be made.

The girls only had a brief amount of time together on the ice, as Hayley and I had to head up north while she did her filming on Corrie, but they worked well as a team and it definitely changed the dynamic for everyone. Instead of fighting against each other, you're helping each other out.

Beth Tweddle is prised for her technical ability but criticised for her performance-ability, while Hayley is the complete opposite - the girls have been working together and helping each other out where they can.

The Team Challenge definitely shook things up!

We were obviously disappointed to have lost but the boys' routine was amazing - we were watching it from the sidelines and they were really together for the whole of their Uptown Girl bit.

Because they won, the boys were able to double their points and leap to the top of the leader board and it was scary for us to see ourselves down at the bottom.

But we're very lucky, as Hayley and I have such an amazing fan base. Every single week they pull through and they send us messages of support, they tweet us, they vote for us - and it was great that we didn't find ourselves in the skate-off.

Even Sam Bailey is supporting us on Twitter

After skating to her Skyscraper tune she sent us the loveliest tweet and it's just so nice to know that even someone like X Factor's Sam Bailey is watching you skate. it's a really good feeling.

The celebrities are on AND in ice at the moment

There are so many injuries at the moment. Professional dancer Brianne injured herself, so we couldn't do the planned opening number - although she has her adorable dog Buster Bolero (named after Torvill and Dean's dance) to make her feel better.

Say hello to Buster Bolero

Ray Quinn was sitting with his legs in ice buckets before he skated out, as he had pulled the muscles quite badly - and Suzanne Shaw had actually hit her head badly before the show during rehearsals, which the public weren't aware of.

Ray Quinn in pain!

The competition is just so fierce that there's no time for injuries, to be honest.

We could have had a (literally) explosive show this weekend

Just next door to the Dancing On Ice set they found an unexploded bomb from World War 2. They had to send professionals in to deactivate it and make sure the area was safe. Scary stuff! But, thankfully, it was all done without us knowing and we actually had no idea of the danger we were in until after it was all sorted out for us.

Next week will be even more of a challenge for the celebrities…

… because they have to do a solo skate on the ice; no dance partner, no team - just them and their skates. As you saw in mine and Hayley's emotional Skyscraper piece, we like to find a story in our routines; it really helps Hayley to focus on that, as an actress, and to ignore all her worries over technique and choreography. So we're going to do the same this week - as well as rehearse, rehearse, rehearse!

You have to remember that these guys are not professionals, they've only been skating for a little while and they will be very nervous, so it's very brave of them all to step out and do this.

Make sure you tune in to see Dan Whiston and Hayley Tamaddon skate in this weekend's episode of Dancing On Ice: All Stars - and don't forget to keep voting!
