Sharing a picture of Kurt, their daughter Francis as a newborn, and herself lying in bed, Courtney wrote: ‘My greatest love and our precious Bean #missyou #memories.’

Later, the 51-year-old rocker, who was married to Nirvana frontman Kurt at the time of his death, posted a further message to her late lover.

‘Makes me feel so sad’ Courntey wrote on another image of the trio.

‘Our baby is all grown up now. Jesus Kurt look at her face, what on earth were you thinking..!?!?’

‘God I miss you, we all miss you #family #memories #turnbacktime #lovehim.’

Kurt and Courtney were together for four years until his death in 1994, after meeting on the underground rock music scene.

They were married in 1992, bonding over their mutual love of music and drug use. That very year, they welcomed their first and only child together, Frances Bean Cobain, with controversy surrounding their fitness for being parents.

Less than two years later, and Kurt committed suicide in his Seattle home, leaving behind his wife Courtney and their young daughter, who is now 23.
