Chris Fountain was famously dropped from Coronation Street in 2013 after THAT controversial rap video.
With shocking lyrics, including the line "I will f*** anybody up in the worst way, rape a bitch on her birthday”, Corrie producers felt it best that Chris step down from his role as Tommy Duckworth.
At the time, an ITV spokesman said the actor's contract had been terminated "as a result of the unacceptable comments he made in a number of online clips".
And, in a public statement of apology, the actor said ITV "had no choice" but to sack him.
Chris said at the time: "My biggest regret however is not to do with losing my job, but that I have hurt and let down so many people including those in a vulnerable situation and I am so very deeply ashamed of this.
“There is absolutely no excuse - I take complete responsibility for my actions - but they were in no way thought out or represent at all my attitude towards women, rape and violence.”
However it seems as if Chris is about to return to the public eye, as he is set to join the cast of The Full Monty.
As in, yes, the stage version of the British film of the same - which is about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers trying their hand at stripping for a living.
And Chris has only gone and landed himself the role of Guy - aka the one who can’t dance, but proves to be VERY well endowed when he exposes himself at auditions.
Here’s a reminder…
And Chris isn’t the only soapstar in the mix, either.
The show will be led by Eastenders and The Bill star Gary Lucy as Gaz, Doc Martin's Joe Absolom as Lomper, Dinnerladies’s Andrew Dunn as Gerald, Brookside’s Louis Emerick as Horse, and Hollyoaks’s Kai Owen as Dave.
And the show will be directed by Jack Ryder (yup, Jamie Mitchell from EastEnders!), whose directing credits include national tours of Calendar Girls - so he’s well prepared for a bit of nudity.
