She’s gone through a very public weight battle and even admitted to having anorexia and bulimia, but now a size 8 Claire Richards says she's finally comfortable in her own skin.
The former Steps star has previously yo-yoed between a size 8 and a size 20 after years of failed diets, but last week showed off her new figure after shedding 6st.
Claire, 38 – mum to Charlie, nine, and Daisy, seven, with her husband Reece Hill – started her health and fitness regime in 2013 and is thrilled at being able to maintain her healthy weight.
Claire says: "It's not rocket science how you lose weight, but maintaining it has always been my problem.
“I was very shy in my 20s, I wish I felt the way I do now back then. That lack of confidence is probably why my weight has gone up and down over the years.
“I do feel more comfortable in my own skin now. I know who I am and what I want to be, whereas before I was a little bit lost.”
And despite Steps reforming for a reunion in 2011, Claire isn’t ruling out them getting back on stage as they gear up the band’s 20-year anniversary.
Claire says: “We have a special kind of chemistry and we’re all on WhatsApp. It would be lovely to do something together again!”
