She’s said to be at her’ happiest’ in years – setting up a new life and planning a family with One Direction toyboy Liam Payne and ditching X Factor to work on a new album in America.
But last week Cheryl’s past came back to haunt her as estranged husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Fersini arrived in LA, where Cheryl has been based for the last five weeks.
Now insiders say there is no chance of a reconciliation between Cheryl, 32, and JB, and she’s concerned over rumours her ex is to meet publishers about a tell-all book exposing details of their short-lived marriage.
“The book rumours have really unnerved Cheryl,” our source said.
“She’s heard that JB is furious over her new relationship with Liam and is really worried he could be speaking with publishers about a book deal. Relations between her and JB are at an all time low."
Cheryl’s 18-month marriage to JB collapsed late last year, and reports emerged last month that JB has been left ‘humiliated’ over how quickly Cheryl has moved on with Liam, 22, blasting it as a ‘publicity stunt’.
A source says: “Things have been going so well with Liam and she’s head over heels in love. But Cheryl is worried about that the strain of a nasty divorce and a possible book on their marriage could bring the honeymoon period to an end and even break them.”
