Cheryl Fernandez-Versini: ‘There are big downsides that come with having money’

The 31-year-old revealed how she'll be voting in the May General Election, causing some to suggest she would resent having to pay mansion tax.

Stella magazine report that Cheryl told them: "I've always been Labour all my life but I want to hear what they've got to say for myself. Now that I'm a mature woman.

"I feel like a greater responsibility now to vote for who runs our country."

Cheryl also touched upon her own finances, and the tax she has to pay as a result of the money she earns.

She continued: "And I pay a f**king lot of tax. So I think that I need to have a really well-informed, well-educated opinion.

"There are big downsides that come with having money. As many as with not having money. I mean, they're different types of stresses, but they're both stresses."

But it seemed Cheryl isn't happy with how her comments were received. She tweeted: "Here we go with the out of context headlines!

"FYI I am a Labour reporter but will always want to hear what everyone has to say #Stella."

Reps for the singer also tweeted: "Cheryl never discussed mansion tax in the Stella magazine interview. Her words have been taken out of context."
