Cradling her blossoming bump for an exclusive photo shoot, Charlotte Dawson is positively glowing. The star is in her final trimester and just weeks away from meeting her much longed-for baby girl. And while she can hardly contain her excitement over her arrival, she admits she’s experiencing a few last-minute nerves.
Charlotte, who is mum to sons Noah, four, and 19-month-old Jude with fiancé Matthew Sarsfield, tells Closer, ‘Some days I’m really ready and so excited, and other days I’m like, “Oh my god, I’ve got to push a baby out of my fanjita, and have to go through breastfeeding and bleeding nipples all over again.”
I am feeling a little hormonal. I find myself crying for no reason, but I know it’s only temporary and it’ll all be worth it when she’s here!’
Though juggling her two boys while being heavily pregnant has been no easy feat. The 32-year-old says, ‘Everything is hard at the minute, I had a water infection last week which meant I was in a little bit more pain. She’s pushing on my bladder so much; I need a wee 100 times a day.
'I say to Matthew, “I think she’s coming”, and he says, “You say that all the time!” Men don’t get it. I want to put a bump on him with some pain down there, so he can see what I’m going through! This’ll be my last pregnancy, I’ve had enough now – I love growing a baby, but it’s so hard when you’ve got little ones!
‘I am a bit scared of the chaos, as I’ll have three under four, but it’s always been a mad house,’ she says, ‘I have mum guilt because Jude is still a baby himself, but he’s so independent already. He’s been awake in his cot in the mornings shouting the names we’ve chosen for her! Noah keeps saying, “Mummy, she’s taking too long. When is she coming?”’
But Charlotte has been keeping up her spirits with the help of Matthew. The pair endured a rocky few months last year when he was caught sexting another woman and Charlotte was left ‘devastated’, but they’ve since reunited and she’s previously explained how she’s learning to forgive him.
‘Nothing fits me right now, but I got glammed up for Valentine’s Day, just to remind Matthew that I can still look sexy. We went for a meal and had a lovely time. He’s been so reassuring and says I look really well, but I don’t know if that’s him just trying to be nice! He prefers me without my glam on and always says, “What have you got all that on for? Your lips look better without all that crap on!” – I think he fancies me more when I’m pregnant,’ she laughs, before adding, ‘And that’s probably
why I keep ending up bloody pregnant.’
She adds, ‘Even though I feel bigger this time round, I’m embracing my titty bangers that are down to my knees. It’s an angry place down below, I don’t want to look – let’s just say there’s a party going on and I’m not invited. I’ve got a lot bigger and deeper stretch marks now, they’re more noticeable, but I’ll always love my tiger stripes.’
And glamorous Charlotte, who’s known for her love of big eyelashes, bouncy hair and fake tan, says she’s going the full hog in preparation for her baby girl’s arrival. She reveals, ‘She’s having the most extra nursery you’ve ever seen. It’s all kitted out and being decorated, there are fairies and swans everywhere, she’s even got her own walk-in wardrobe, and she’s not even popped out yet. I’ve been getting all her cute outfits ready; I’m going to put her in the most gorgeous dresses, and I’m hoping she comes out with a curly blow-dry. I just hope to God she still comes out as a girl now – can you imagine if not?’
And social media star Charlotte, who’s currently recording series two of parenting podcast, The Naughty Corner, says she’s hoping all three of her children will follow the family lead into stardom. ‘Oh, I’m definitely going to be a momager,’ she laughs. ‘I’d like to say I’m going to be like Kris Jenner, but I’ll be the Blackpool version. Noah’s told me himself he’s going to be on stage when he’s older. He’s wild and chaotic like me. Jude needs to be a model because he’s gorgeous and is so good in front of the camera. I hope baby girl follows in my footsteps.'
Meanwhile, Charlotte regularly posts pictures of her visits to her late father Les Dawson’s memorial statue in Blackpool, often taking flowers, and just recently a Colin The Caterpillar cake to celebrate what would’ve been his 94th birthday. She says she can’t wait to take her newborn to meet her grandad too. She says, ‘It’s really important for me that we take baby girl to see her grandad’s statue. When it gets warmer, we’ll go for picnics and have chips and gravy there. The boys get excited to go and see him and I know in time our baby girl will too. Some people say it’s weird, but it’s our special way of cherishing his memory. I feel like he’s definitely looking down on us all.’
