Liz Jones, profoundly deaf and somewhat misunderstood by her housemates, proved to be a popular contestant with viewers of Celebrity Big Brother.
And, as a hardened reality journalist, we expected her to dish the deetz on Lee Ryan, Casey Batchelor, Jim Davidson, Jasmine Waltz, Sam Faiers, Linda Nolan, Ollie Locke and co when she exited the house.
So it comes as no surprise that she's written an in-depth column for the Daily Mail. What was surprising, however, was what she revealed about her "desperate" housemates.

From self-harm to substance abuse, it seems as if a lot goes on away from the prying eyes of the Big Brother cameras - and Liz has explained that she feels nothing but empathy for her "newfound friends".
Speaking candidly, she revealed: "[One] housemate became so upset one night at how he thought he was being manipulated by the show that he took sleeping tablets mixed with alcohol.
"[And Linda Nolan] was still grieving and … was driven to self-harm in the toilet due to her distress over Jim’s behaviour."
It is difficult to predict which male celebrity was left so upset for his reputation that he turned to sleeping tablets and alcohol - and it is upsetting to hear that Linda Nolan was left suicidal and in a very dark place after the infamous "Frank Carson's dressing room" argument.
But the revelations didn't stop there.
"Sam told me she earns just £50 a day on her TV show; she dons her famous false lashes because she suffers from trichotillomania, a compulsion to pull out her own real hair."
"Lee, who as a member of Blue sold millions of records, revealed one afternoon in the garden he doesn’t even own a flat, and any change from his CBB fee after buying his mum a new Citroen would go towards a deposit.
"Casey… was the most surprising of all, telling me she had never once achieved orgasm from a man, that she had been bullied at school for her big breasts, and never managed to make female friends."
"Jim had been booked to enter CBB the year before, but had been arrested at the airport by the same squad investigating Jimmy Savile, even though there were no underage sex accusations.
"No charges were brought, but he lost a year’s worth of earnings: each time he was saved by the British public, you could see the relief in his eyes. "
The housemates were, as Liz puts it, each "desperate in their own way" - and Liz herself has even admitted to vomiting in the toilets due to stress. She also explained that, while some displayed their distress in more serious ways, others were more subtle.
"Ollie was so traumatised at the possibility of not being liked by someone somewhere, a tear snaked down his face."
"Jasmine… rounded on me in tears to say that I should not have said I wanted to kill myself as her father had committed suicide when she was a child."
Liz also revealed that she does not believe anyone had sex in the house - putting an end to speculation over the Lee, Jasmine and Casey love triangle - and even denied claims that the show was scripted by producers, who were recently seen holding up cue cards for contestants:
"Much has been made of the fact boards with a script were held up by production staff for a Towie versus Chelsea skit, but the inscriptions said merely ‘Get a pair of shoes from your bag’ and ‘Sing a song’."
Liz went on to admit that she will miss her housemates and the the experience has taught her to be kinder, not just to others but to herself too.
But her revelations are sure to shock fans of the show, who assumed that it was all fun and games and silly spats in a bid to boost fame; they had no idea of how much the pay check would mean to each contestant, or how much pressure they feel under to be liked.
