As fans of the 26-year-old will know, Cara tragically suffered a miscarriage last year – making this pregnancy all the more precious. In her exclusive blog for Closer Online, former TOWIE star Cara documents the final leg of her journey from bump to baby.

"I have four and a half weeks until my due date and it can’t come quick enough. I’m 21lbs up on the scales and expecting to put on another 7lb in the last few weeks of my pregnancy!

I’ve spent most of my pregnancy suffering with kidney stones which is up there with being one of the most painful things I’ve had to go through. I’ve been in and out of hospital weekly and because there is nothing they can do for a pregnant lady suffering with them – you’re pretty much left to deal with it yourself.

Thankfully though the last six weeks I’ve had no flare up and my water infections have gone so I’m hoping the stone has passed.

With the kidney Stones out the way I’ve finally had time to focus on my pregnancy and went to see my Obstetrician, who looks after me for my Birth Plan. I’ve chosen a natural birth and the painkillers… well I'll let you know how that goes once I’ve given birth!

A question I’ve been asked a few times this week is… ‘Are you ready?’ I think the truth is you're never really ready because you just don’t know what to expect.

As a first time mum, I do think its natural for you to question yourself as the date draws nearer, but nothing is more certain: I can't wait to meet our little bundle of joy.

I am all sorted with all my main buys thanks to the help of Bababoom in Loughton. I walked in there and they cover everything so I managed to get my prams, crib, furniture and car seat all at once!

Myself and my partner Daniel decided on not finding out the sex of our baby. I just feel you don’t get many surprises in life so why not keep it a secret?

However, the downside is that I cant get organised with everything. For the baby’s nursery I chose a beautiful neutral wallpaper by Brian Yates from the ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ book and the stunning Sleigh Royale furniture range by Boori.

I went for the Cot Bed, Wardrobe and three drawer changing table, and at the moment have a beautiful big white rug which covers most of the wooden floor in the room just to make it feel more warm but that’s pretty much all I can do. As soon as the baby is here then I can add either pink or blue to the room.

My favourite brand is Tartine et Chocolat. I’ve gone over the top with everything Tartine in White. The baby’s bedding is absolutely beautiful from there – in fact its better than mine!

I’m forever searching the internet and shopping on all the baby websites. I lay awake at night with my ‘Mummy To Be’ Smythson organizer and a pen next to my bed incase I think of anything that I may have forgotten.

I’ve enjoyed giving my Instagram and Twitter followers a weekly update of my baby bump and I love reading the comments to see what they think I’m having.

Throughout this pregnancy I have lived and died in the Isabella Oliver Maternity dresses and tops. They're so comfortable and I’ve been able to keep my style. I’ve even ventured out to a red and a blue one instead of just the black!
