Cara Kilbey, who announced her pregnancy just weeks after best friend Billi Mucklow revealed she was expecting, confirmed yesterday that she had lost her unborn baby.
She took to Twitter to share a message with her fans, writing: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," alongside a broken heart.
But the reality star has been overwhelmed with support from friends, family, and fans - and, late last night, she returned to social media to share a heartfelt thank-you message with them all.
Cara wrote emotionally: "Thank you to everyone for you kind words today to get us through this difficult time.
"Every single tweet or Instagram comment I have read today has helped me so so much.
"I am overwhelmed by the love from so many people. Thank you."
She also made sure to thank fellow reality stars Frankie Essex, Chloe Sims, and Joey Essex for sending her messages of condolence.
A spokesperson confirmed Cara's sad news yesterday, saying: “It is with great sadness that I must inform you, that last week Cara Kilbey suffered a late miscarriage.
"Cara was over five months pregnant when she lost her baby."
They continued: “Cara and her partner are devastated at the loss and will not be commenting further on this deeply upsetting matter.
"I hope their privacy is respected in order to give them time to grieve and seek support."
Cara revealed she was expecting at the start of this year, writing: "So happy and excited to announce we are expecting our first baby together July 2015."
