British stars were very well represented in the 2015 list of Oscar nominees, which was released earlier today.

Mum-to-be Kiera stars alongside fellow Brit nominee Benedict Cumberbatch in The Imitation Game.

Newlywed Eddie Redmayne- who played physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything- was asleep when he found out he was in the running for cinema’s most prestigious honour.

He told the Mail Online: “It was someone banging on the door and screaming. My manager was brandishing a phone and at the end of that phone someone was telling me I had been nominated. I went from sleepy eyed to pretty wide awake very fast.”

Missing from the nominees list was Oscar hopeful Jennifer Aniston, who has been praised for her emotional performance in drama Cake.

Fans of the Lego Movie were also disappointed to see that the loveable tale had been snubbed by the Oscar voters.
