Brian and Kerry, both 35, were married from 2002-2004 and share two daughters, Molly, 14, and 12-year-old Lilly-Sue – but the former Westlife singer has insisted he’ll look after all five of her children if she needs a break.

Speaking to Closer, Brian said: “I called her as soon as it all came out about the split. I've been taking our daughters out to give her a break and offered to take her other kids for a bit too.

"She's obviously upset but she's getting on with it."

Earlier this year Brian took to Twitter to wish former rugby player George, also 35, a happy Father’s Day, thanking him for ‘keeping their family’ together.

Despite the sudden turn of events, Brian, who recently split from wife Vogue Williams, isn’t taking sides.

Kerry announced her split from George last week, following his alleged arrest

He continued: “I haven't spoken to George about the split and I don't know the ins and outs. I know that Kerry's very upset and she's the mother of my children so that's all I've got to go on.”

Last week Kerry confirmed her third marriage was over after just 13 months, following reports that George was arrested for attacking her and possessing a taser.

A spokesperson for the Atomic Kitten singer said: “It is with deep sadness that Kerry announces the end of her marriage to George Kay. Her focus now will be on her gorgeous children.”
