Since announcing that their marriage is over, the couple have been putting on a brave face as they continue to co-parent their three children: Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
And it appears they’ve enlisted the help of a furry friend in order to make the entire experience a little less traumatic on their youngsters, with a friend of the family confirming the dog is intended to help smooth things along.
A source told the Boston Herald that the couple continue to live together in order to keep some aspect of normality for the children.
‘He’s living on the same property as someone he just split up with. That’s very hard to do, but he’s doing it for his kids.’
Another inside told US Weekly: ‘They want to fill their children’s lives with as much love as possible and make sure they know they have two parents who love them to pieces.’
But other sources have claimed that the split has already turned bitter, with Garner seeking sole custody of her three children.
‘Ben…needs to be around as much as possible to show that he’s responsible and involved in his children’s everyday lives,’ a source told In Touch.
Jennifer and Ben announced their split last month after 10 years of marriage.
