The fallout between the Beckhams and son Brooklyn drags on – and insiders reveal that mum Victoria’s BFF Eva Longoria has now offered to act as mediator between the family members.

Last week, Brooklyn, 26, appeared to twist the knife yet further after he posted a birthday tribute to father-in-law Nelson Peltz – having failed to publicly acknowledge his own parents’ birthdays, including David’s 50th.

He also posted a message to wife Nicola, 30, to mark the fifth anniversary of proposing to her, saying it was the ‘best decision’ he’d ever made.

But long-time family friend Eva feels she has the magic touch to help heal the toxic dispute. An insider tells Closer, ‘Eva and Brooklyn have always been extremely close. Eva’s known Brooklyn since he was eight and he sees her as a cool aunt figure, turning to her in times of trouble. Eva’s heartbroken by the feud and while she’s obviously been supporting Vic, she’s also reached out to Brooklyn to let him know that she’s here for him. As a result, in one of Vic’s tearful breakdowns recently she begged Eva to step in and act as mediator in a desperate bid to try to settle this feud and get Brooklyn to talk to her.’

Having been pals with Victoria, 51, since meeting in 2007, Eva, 50, was likely well aware of the rumoured tensions between the former Spice Girl and Nicola, 30, which reportedly stemmed from Nicola opting not to wear a Victoria Beckham-designed dress at her wedding.

The source continues, ‘At first, Eva was hesitant to get involved as she didn’t want it to backfire and end up pushing Brooklyn away. Over the last couple of weeks though, Eva’s conversations with Brooklyn have been getting longer and he’s opening up to her about his upset over the situation and how torn he feels between Nicola and his family. Brooklyn has made her promise that what he says won’t get back to his mum, but she’s trying to get him to see how hurtful this is to his parents. Vic’s finding it difficult knowing Eva’s privy to information she won’t divulge, but she’s also incredibly grateful to her for stepping in.’

And in a show of support Yolanda Hadid – whose son Anwar dated Nicola when he was 17 and she was 22 – shared a love heart underneath David’s knighthood announcement. ‘Vic was extremely touched by Yolanda reaching out, given her first-hand experience with Nicola and knowing how much strife she went through with her son’s relationship with her,’ the insider says. ‘They’ve been in touch and Vic’s been able to get a lot of clarity from Yolanda. She assured Posh it would all blow over – and she felt a lot calmer afterwards.’
