The hearts of thousands of women shattered this morning when Bake Off’s Tamal Ray revealed that he is NOT looking for a girlfriend.

But for his many male admirers, you’re in luck, as he IS looking for a boyfriend!

Single-and-ready-to-mingle Tamal opened up to Radio Times about his new found heartthrob status.

When asked if he was currently dating, he said: “I wouldn't have a girlfriend, I would have a boyfriend. But I am single at the moment.”

The 29-year-old trainee anaesthetist hasn’t been short of admirers since first appearing on the hit BBC One show.

He admitted: “Yes, I have had a few offers on Twitter!”

The trainee doctor is still working at a hospital in Manchester despite finding fame.

Tamal revealed that patients are happy to chat about his side-career as a star baker.

“It's a great icebreaker,” he said. “In the morning I see my patients on that day's operating list, and talking about Bake Off helps with the tension a bit.

“I didn't think the consultants were particularly interested, but I made some muffins recently and they all went mad for them.”

Tamal has garnered a massive following on Twitter, with many fans sending him lustful innuendos which have left him with blushes.

He recently tweeted: “Some of the lustier tweets have had me crying with laughter.

“Also glad my folks aren't on twitter! #GBBO #blushingbaker.”
