Anthea Turner has bared all about her painful divorce from husband, Grant Bovey.
The 55-year-old TV presenter said that splitting from her husband of 13 years was an "awful" experience and described the ordeal as a "slave journey".
The split came after Bovey, 55, was linked to interior designer Zoe de Mallet Morgan who is 27 years his junior.
Divorce is never easy, but Anthea also spoke about the differences between going through such a difficult time later on in life, compared to what she went through when she split from her first husband, Peter Powell, twenty years ago.
Speaking to The Mirror, the ex-Blue Peter and GMTV presenter said: "I've learnt so much on this slave journey. It's very different getting divorced in your 50s than it is in your 20s or 30s.
“I think you deal with it very differently."
Anthea has decided to pen everything she has learnt. She plans to write a self-help book for women in a similar situation who need help surviving all the pressures and stresses that come with a divorce.
As well as dealing with the emotional turmoil of her break-up, Anthea also had to deal with the weight of Bovey’s financial problems. He was declared bankrupt and she is now caught up in ongoing legal battles with his creditors.
Despite this, Anthea has learned how to deal with her feelings and is very optimistic about moving on with her life.
Talking about what the experience has taught her, and what she wants to pass on to other women, she said: "I feel if you harbour bad feelings, you hurt yourself more than anybody else.
“You have to let go because you are only damaging yourself. Women are terrible at it, men are much better.
"We harbour rubbish. Get rid of it.”
She recently began dating Liz Hurley’s ex and fine-art photographer, David Yarrow.
