Sealed with a love heart emoji, Adele confirmed her relationship with new boyfriend, Rich Paul, last week – to the delight of her 40 million followers, who excitedly branded the post “hot celebrity couple alert!”
Insiders told Closer that Adele, 32 – who shares eight-year-old son, Angelo, with ex-husband Simon Koneki – is keen to start a family with the 39-year-old sports agent, and now pals say her pregnant BFF, Jennifer Lawrence, known as J Law, has been quietly encouraging her to do it sooner rather than later.
The Hello singer has been best friends with the 31-year-old actress – who last month announced she is expecting her first child with husband Cooke Maroney – since they met at the 2013 Oscars, where they both won a gong, and they now live very close to each other in Beverly Hills.
A source says, “Adele has made no secret of how much she’s longing for another baby – even before meeting Rich – and she’s overjoyed to be in a happy relationship that she feels secure enough to go public with and can now think about a future that could include babies.
“When Adele told Jen that her bump was making her even more broody, Jen couldn’t contain herself and excitedly started thinking about their ‘mini-mes’ becoming best friends too.
“While Adele told her not to get too carried away, she admitted the idea of having children close in age made it even more enticing. She’s made it clear Rich is The One and she doesn’t want to waste any time, so Jen might not be waiting too long for her BFF joint baby dream to come true.”
Last week, a report confirmed Adele was “very serious” about her new man, saying that she is thrilled to have found somebody who “really gets her” as they have had similar backgrounds – both were born to single, working-class parents and have grafted to make their millions. They added that the pair are now LA’s top “power couple”.
Since dropping 7st following the breakdown of her two-year marriage to old Etonian and businessman Simon in 2019, the notoriously private star has wowed fans with her image overhaul – wearing sexier clothes and displaying her newfound body confidence, most recently when showing off her twerking skills at a friend’s wedding alongside her boyfriend.
The source says, “Being with Rich has given Adele a new lease of life and she’s feeling sexier and more confident than ever. Rich adores her and is constantly paying her compliments, telling her how gorgeous she is, but he says he would love her whatever size she is.
“Adele completely changed her mindset to lose weight and her entire outlook when it comes to food has been overhauled, so she’s not worried about gaining weight when she has another baby as she has learned to control it.”

After giving birth to Angelo in 2012, the singer said, “No nannies. I’m going to be a hands-on mummy.”
The source adds, “Living so far away from many of her loved ones makes the prospect of having a baby more daunting, so her mum offering to temporarily move over there has given her peace of mind – especially given she is working on her big comeback.
“She’ll still be flying back and forth as she shares custody of Angelo with Simon, but having that security of her mum’s presence and the added support of Jennifer to go through it together has made her really think about the idea of becoming a mum again.”
