Coronation Street: The Tram Crash

If we have to start anywhere, it obviously has to be with one of Coronation Street's most iconic episodes of all time - the live tram crash episode in 2010, which saw the cobbles left in ruin when an explosion at Nick Platt's restaurant under the arches caused a tram to fall and completely knock down most of the street. In this live show, fan favourite characters Molly Dobbs and Ashley Peacock died, with Fiz Stape giving birth.

Coronation Street: Tracy Barlow returns

The original bad girl of the street Tracy Barlow seemed to have left the soap in 2007, after being put behind bars for killing her then-boyfriend Charlie Stubbs. But when 2010 came knocking, so did Tracy Barlow, and she dramatically returned to the show, after forensic evidence at her trial was discredited. Cue the close up shots of her feet on the cobbles, panning up to her face and a collective gasp from the nation.

EastEnders: Who killed Lucy Beale?

Fans would have never have thought EastEnders bosses would ever have killed off a Beale family member, but back in 2015, Lucy Beale was left for dead, with it being suggested EVERY single EastEnders character could've killed the twin of Peter Beale. While it was most likely Max Branning that killed her following their affair and the dramatic exposure, in a live episode the killer was revealed to be Lucy's little brother Bobby Beale and NO ONE saw it coming. It was the best kept secret in soap land history. But we cannot talk about his storyline without mentioning how Jo Joyner (Tanya Branning) mucked up her line and said "How's Adam?" instead of "How's Ian?" in the live episode, and she found it really hard to keep a straight face. Now that's jaw-dropping TV.

Back in 2015, there was another serial killer on the loose, and they claimed the lives of seven characters by injecting them all with potassium chloride. It was later revealed to be Lindsey Roscoe, despite many of the other local nurses being blamed for the killings. This storyline saw the return of fellow serial killer Silas Blissett, who kind of had a loose link to the storyline (we feel like bringing him back was more for nostalgia's sake), who revealed Lindsey was the killer and he took it upon himself to kill Lindsey. Very random but extremely dramatic and his return certainly made our jaws drop.
