Roxy Shahidi hadn’t known Arsher Ali before they began working on a London stage play together and was totally taken aback when he popped the question.
VIDEO: HAVE YOU SEEN THIS COCA-COLA PROPOSAL YET?
She told The Mirror: “He just looked me in the eye at a cast party and said, ‘Will you marry me?’
“I didn’t answer and he said, ‘You will be my wife’ and that was it. I didn’t quite know what to make of it because I didn’t know him that well.
“I knew that he liked me but we hadn’t really said anything. We hadn’t even kissed!
“I half wanted to laugh and say, ‘That’s absolutely ridiculous!’ and the other half thought, ‘Oooh, kiss me passionately!’”
Just three years later in 2010, the pair had a blessing - surrounded by friends and family.
While they still have to sign a marriage register at some point to make it legal, the 31-year-old has insisted there's no rush.
She said: “We will get round to it at some point. I just don’t think it’s been a massive priority that’s all.
"We view ourselves as man and wife. I call him my husband.”
It's nice to hear that whirlwind romances do have happy-ever-afters, isn't it?
